Zooz

We arrived at Zooz this morning at almost 11 am...I know , I know, what can I say we like to sleep in. For the most part it was a quiet and almost haunting trip to the zoo. Other than a couple small pockets of people, it seemed like we were the only ones there. We stood is awe of some of God's most beautiful creations and their lonely caged silence seemed to penetrate us. I know it doesn't sound very happy, but maybe it was due to the cool fall like weather. Or maybe it was the dark and gloomy overcast skies? Who knows, but we sure appreciated the few brief and fleeting moments we enjoyed the warmth of the sun. Summer hasn't even left yet and somehow we already missed it. Gavin had a great time yelling out animal names along with their sounds, however the highlight of his day was the random tunnel that provided a passage to the amphitheater. lol He much preferred the echoes of his own voice as he ran up and down the tunnel screaming and singing a few of his favorite songs. Overall it was good times, but I must admit I don't really like seeing the animals in cages. I wish they could build more natural environments for them, and it wouldn't hurt the photography aspect either ( ; Here are a few pics of the day and sorry if I made you feel depressed...haha

There's something really invigorating about being 4 feet from a tiger.

Kinda reminded me of hungry hungry hippo minus the bold colours and the stick in its back.

WOW!! That is one looooong Zebra ;)

This African Crowned Crane has some fantastic hair.

Ok seriously, male Lions are just plain awesome looking.

Hmmmm...we've never heard of a seasonal Coke machine before?? We found this sign intriguing although it did provoke more questions than answers. Were they unable to find an "out of service" sign? Do people enter the park in the off season looking for a nice chilli Coca-Cola?? What seasons does the machine actually offer the coke in? What makes it seasonal pop, and how does it differ from regular pop? Ok you get the point...

Gavin loved the animals but his favorite part was actually singing and running in the tunnel. Kids will be kids!

Last but not least, Ma Famille (:
