Youth Nation - TAG Team

So a short time ago I was asked to teach a TAG team. Now I know many of you guys are actually tuning in to this post because you can't get that killer classic WWF 80's wrestling out of your head. You know back when wrestling was actually good and real...right? (wink wink) Sorry man, but it has nothing to do with Demolition, Andre the Giant & Jimmy the super-fly Snuka, the Killers bees, the British Bulldogs or the Hart Foundation. (my personal favorite) TAG is actually an acronym for "talents and Gifts". Talents and gifts is a program at Bethany Community Church for grades 7-9 where young people can try out things that interest them. They can find out if it's something they may want to do as a career, or just something that would be fun to casually learn about with their friends. There are about 12 different categories they can study, from photography (of course) to cooking, robotics, auto mechanics and more... Super cool eh? I wish something like this was around when I was young because some direction would've been nice. (: The youth program is really awesome, and gives kids a fantastic opportunity to try something new, and spend some time chillin in the lobby with their friends. In "the portal" (aka: the lobby) they have tons of entertainment going on. They have pool tables, fuzzball, air hockey, wii and more...I must admit that I enjoy arriving a bit early each week to demolish some unexpecting young person at a good old game of air hockey. (beware) I LOVE that game! Martin if you read this "we need a NEW air hockey puck because the replacement puck is garbo, it's too light, and doesn't stay on the table." To say the least we're super excited to be involved with Youth Nation, (that's what it's actually called) and hope our group of kids enjoy photography as much as we enjoy teaching them.
Ok, now I know there are literally over 200 kids that come out each week, but I feel we may have ended up with the cream of the crop. We have such a fantastic group, and their eagerness to learn makes us anticipate each Tuesday night with exuberent excitement. We have quite the diverse selection of cameras as you can well imagine...everything from DSLR's, to prosumer super zooms, to little pink point & shoots lol (you know who you are) We're sort of like the Brady Bunch, however the balance is just a little off with 7 girls and only 1 guy. Sorry my man! In only a couple short weeks we've gotten to know each other pretty well, and have shared many deep dark secrets. Things such as our favorite colour, favorite chocolate bar, ice cream etc...you know the important stuff!
Anywho, we just thought we'd take a minute and share our NEW adventure with ya'll.
Here is our group of uber cool peeps...
