The Verdict is in...

TWIN GIRLS...WOW! I tell ya, it just doesn't get any better then this. Today I dropped Jenny off at her ultrasound appointment, and went to run some errands. (I just wasn't feeling another boring hour in the waiting room) After about an hour I returned, and as I was waiting at the secretaries window to see if it was finally time for me to enter the room, the ultrasound technician peeked into the waiting room and bellowed my name. I was brimming with excitement as the moment had finally arrived. I'm not good with surprises, I just like to know things. I entered the small dark room, and heard the technician speak those four ridiculously awesome words "I have your answer". I can't remember the last time I had such a sweet feeling in my soul. Jenny and I had glowing faces like two kids on Christmas morning eyeing their plethora of gifts. The technician started from head to toe on both babies showing us a complete cross section of their anatomy, and it seemed like it was taking forever. It was so amazing to see everything from their beating hearts, to their teeny tiny little toes. So COOL!!! Then finally she returned to the anatomical area of interest. WHEW! She showed us those three magical little lines that clearly identified them as girls, and we were ecstatic to say the least.

So we returned home, told my mom (who was overjoyed) and started making some phone calls. Our friend Deborah was kind enough to remind me of my infamous words "no pink will ever enter my home". Well I guess things are gonna change, but this whole pink thing won't be an easy transition for me and my manly lair. lol (: It's actually funny how often throughout this pregnancy we've had to eat our words.

I don't know why but I just have a hunch that the twins are identical. However, since I've clearly been wrong on every other assumption I've made this pregnancy, I don't think my gut feeling holds any weight. Whatever we're having, it's what God has chosen for us, and we're cool with it. It's sure funny how things work out, but we're happy to share this exciting new adventure with each other, and all of you.

I've added a couple more ultrasound images below...enjoy!
Shane & Jenny

Look at their cute little feet...ok they look more like vicious little bear claws...perhaps it's just motion blur...

There is clearly no longer any room for speculation as it's definitively two heads.

  1. I'm going to go with your idea that they're identical.. they certainly look to be sharing a sack... :) (I make no claims of being an ultrasound technician)
