Ok! Hello, my name is Shane and I’m a terrible blogger. My last blog post was at Christmas 2010, and I’ve been desperately trying to muster up the energy ever since. To my defense, we have moved and are getting ready for twins.... so that leaves me a bit of wiggle room for lame excuses. Oh I must add our internet sucks, and I certainly don't recommend a Rogers Rocket (turtle) Stick. Any suggestions of a better option are welcome.
So much has happened since then that I regret not actively blogging as I feel I may miss so many important details.
So obviously you know that we’ve moved! We now live amongst the beautiful rolling hills of Agape Valley in the heart of the Niagara Region (that sure sounds nice, doesn’t it??). The property is 143 stunning acres near Shorthills Provincial Park, and living here is absolute bliss. Anyone who knows me knows I love the outdoors, especially being in the woods. The view leaves me speechless every morning when I look out the window and thank my God for this little slice of heaven on earth. I love hiking and mountain biking and there will be plenty ‘o time for that (I hope). YES!!!! This post is really beginning to sound like an online dating profile or something... I should add that I also like long walks on the beach, reading, and rock paper scissor showdowns, so bring it!! haha. It’s sure going to be an awesome place for our ever expanding family (namely our kids) to grow up. And I’m still desperately trying to convince Jenny that a Quad is a “need”, not a “want” so please help my cause by facebooking Jenny on my behalf. To those who do, you are good people (:
It is also amazing to live at Agape Valley because it’s a fantastic ministry to be involved in. They produce maple syrup and honey here, and run children’s day camps in the summer. It is completely run by Christian volunteers all for the love of seeing children come to Christ during the 8 weeks of summer bible camp. You just can’t beat that! I highly recommend you stop by next Saturday for the last day of Maple Syrup Days before it comes to a close. You can enjoy the best pancakes this side of Texas, as well as FREE hayrides, and FREE sugar bush tours. Not to mention the world’s best maple syrup...you gotta purchase some “liquid gold” (as I call it) before you leave. And if you can make it out here, you better stop by and say hello. OR ELSE!
So we’re three (that’s right three) days out from the arrival of our twin girls, EEEK! I guess I should be scared or anxious or something, and I really thought I would be, but God’s perfect peace has me as cool as a cucumber. I’m not sure if Jenny is quite as calm as I am, but after all I’m not the one having the C-section. I still can’t believe we’re having twins, but it is what it is, and we’re stoked. I can’t believe “Trina” and “Sabrina” are almost here. ;) WOW time flies... Bring on the bebe’s
So I guess I’ll end this post here before I write a short story, but stay tuned for updates. For those of you who are out of the loop, live on another planet, or want to fervently pray for us... Jenny’s C-section is March 31st at 1 pm. The Dr. believes they’re identical twins as they’ve only found one placenta thus far (in 5 ultrasounds), however Dr’s like weathermen are often wrong so we’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?
We can’t tell you how blessed we feel and how appreciative we are for all of the baby showers, gifts, offers to help with the babies (you better mean it) and kind words we’ve received. It has been overwhelming to say the least, and thank you just doesn’t seem like an adequate enough way to express the deep gratitude we have. We love you all and are thankful to have such amazing people in our life. (:
Ok I’ll try to end this again without another tangent lol.
Here are a few pics of our new home, and some police composites of what we think our babies will look like. ;)
All the best!
Shane & Jenny
Gavin moved to a full size bed shortly after arriving at the new house and he loves it although it's not evident from this photo which was taken just moments after he awoke from a nap.

Ok so I want one of these, now can you see why?? NEED! that's right I NEED it! :) This shot was taken at one of Agape's alternate sugar bush sites and WOW was it ever muddy there. I don't know how Tim convinced me to bring my camera here??

My new office! YESSSSS

Even better, this is often the view from my new office :) Most of you will be happy to know that I've stopped harassing everyone on facebook with my jubilant expressions of excitement about seeing deers. < (Charlene I know you'll read this)

The straight dope...Jenny wanted me to add this because she believes this more accurately explains why I haven't been putting out blogs. A sneaky shot she got of me hard at work in my office... I love me my viewfinder.

A Polaroid of the new pad! Isn't it beautiful??

...and where's the shot of you riding in the little basket on the ATV?
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot of the deer, by the way. I can almost feel their sense of urgency.
lol I'm definitely too fat for the basket... and thanks I like that shot too, and seeing deer never gets old.
