I awoke that morning with an almost uncontainable joy permeating every fiber of my being, and couldn't wait for things to get under way. After greeting some friends and family, it was now time to go into the back room, and walk out with my boys. A few moments later we were standing at the front of the church and I waited. It seemed like forever, and then I heard the music begin. Finally, the moment arrived and the doors swung open, and there you were looking as beautiful as I've ever seen you look. You're gorgeous smile caught me first and I felt my eyes welling up. What an amazing moment it was!!
Sometimes when we go through growing pains and the tough times, (and there's been a lot) I return to that moment. It helps me to regain perspective and remember the woman I fell in love with, and made very real and serious promises to. I am certainly not a perfect man, not even close. But I just want to thank you for being an incredible wife. Thank you for being my best friend. Thank you for having my back in times of adversity. Thank you for supporting and encouraging me through my difficulties. Thank you for not judging me in the areas in which I fall so short, but for showing me a grace that I can sometimes barely comprehend. Thank you for loving me through my faults and walking along side me through my fears. Thank you for keeping me grounded and teaching me humility. Thank you for accepting my often neurotic behaviors. (: And thank you for supporting the mustache I had last year because I thought it would be funny to look like a 70's cop. You are my strength in my weak moments, and a crown in my strong moments. Your words almost always come at the right time, and I'm still captivated when you smile.
I love when you get into bed and snuggle in to the blankets and get "cozy." You make the cutest face! I love when you laugh, and when you make that face that tells me you know what I'm gonna say before I even say it. I love when you say things at exactly the same time as me, and am surprised just how often it happens. I love so many things about you that make you who you are. I love that you're my wife. I love that you love cookies and car-rides as much as me. I love that you do photography with me now, and are enjoying it so much.(and have become so good) I love that you've given me such an incredible son and that we're having another baby together. I know you're entering into the "crappy" times with this pregnancy, but know that I'm here to support you, and look at what we ended up with last time. I'd say it was all worth it, wouldn't you? (easier for me to say when I don't feel nauseous every day, right?) (:
You're a great wife, friend, teacher, daughter-in-law and mother. And one day Gavin is going to see that he hit the jackpot!
I know I don't maybe say these things enough, and I know your heart is often breaking when you think of the important people in your life who've really let you down.
Just know this, I LOVE YOU Jenny and I always will (: (like that really bad song I wrote you)
